A Bit About Us
The Vernon Township High School Theatre Department is made up of wonderfully talented students. We offer a wide variety of theatre classes and put on two MainStage productions each year. We have our Fall show the last weekend of October and our Spring Musical the second weekend of March. We attend two regional Acting Competitions in January, STANJ and ThesFest and are the home to the International Thespian Society Troupe #3981.

About our Department Head
Christina Murolo graduated from Vernon Township High School in 2013 as a two-time
Governor’s Award winner, an avid member of the VTHS Theatre Department and an
International Honor Thespian Member of Troupe #3981. She went on to Quinnipiac University
where she earned multiple Off-Broadway credits and her BA in Theatre in 2017. Immediately
following graduation, Christina toured with George Street Playhouse for two years, bringing
educational theatre to schools throughout the Tri-State Area. After the completion of the tour,
Christina went back to NYC and continued to develop new play works Off-Broadway up until
the pandemic hit. Since learning under Barri Weinstein, she always knew she wanted to
eventually make her way back to the classroom so that she can not only bring her real world experience into the classroom, but also teach future generations about all the aspects and all the magic that theatre has to offer. She is currently enrolled in Rutgers University’s Graduate School of
Education’s Alternate Route Program where she is working to earn her Standard Teaching
Certificate. It's her goal to always create an environment that not only challenges her students but further fosters their creativity as they pave their way in this world. Throughout her career, Christina has been able to play so many of her dream roles - but her biggest dream come true is coming back to VTHS to direct the Theatre Department. Everyday her students bring so much joy into her life, remind her constantly what a gift it is to teach them, and learn from them, everyday. And moreover, to see through their eyes what the true magic of the VTHS theatre department is them.
